Hello!
My
name is POO. I have a job working for a handicapped person.
A lot of us go about our business
never being recognized as medical necessities because we don’t look
like traditional larger sized dogs typically used for sight impaired
persons. There are many different handicaps and many ways for us to
serve. But the one thing we all strive for is to give a person with a
handicap more personal independence.
I run things at home because it is my job to keep us on a schedule. I
know when medicine is due, I let my owner know when someone knocks at
the door, I know when we should take a nap, eat, and when I decide she
has spent enough time on the PC I have ways of getting her out of the
house. We go shopping and I sit quietly while she buys me my monthly
supply of green beans. If I don’t get my can of green beans everyday I
get grouchy.
Most of the times when we are in public people understand that they can
not pet me even though I’m knock you down pretty. When you meet a
person with an assistant dog you should speak to the person, not the
dog.

report some of our adventures and misadventures.
